Asazgua: Asociación de azucareros de Guatemala

The Association of Sugar Producers of Guatemala -Asazgua- was founded in 1957. It is an organization of trade union nature that brings together the sugar cane producers of the country.  

Asazgua promotes the implementation of sustainable practices in environmental matters, through research and development. It also promotes community development through social programs and ensures decent employment conditions in the sugarcane sector and its value chain.

Founded in 1990, Fundazucar is the social branch of the Sugar Cane Agroindustry. Through its programs, it promotes community development and municipal strengthening, positively impacting the lives of thousands of Guatemalans.

Guatemalan Center for Research and Training of Sugar Cane Cengicaña-, founded in 1992, is intended to develop and adapt new technologies that drive agricultural innovation and sustainability within the sector. 

expogranel S.A. logo

Since its foundation in 1994, Expogranel has been the export terminal for sugar produced by the mills, contributing to the competitiveness of the sector worldwide. Expogranel is one of the most efficient sugar terminals in the world. 

ICC logo

Private Institute for Climate Change Research -ICC- was created in 2010 as an initiative of the sector and is the main technical and scientific advisor in environmental matters of agroindustry. Its work focuses on research and projects intended to mitigate and adapt the sector to the challenges of climate change. 

Innovahub logo

Innovahub was born in the heart of the Sugar Cane Agroindustry in 2022 as an initiative to promote the development of business models in innovative areas, as well as technologies and infrastructures. Its purpose is to foster an innovation ecosystem in Guatemala.
